Next G was rolled out to be a replacement to the CDMA network that gave the best regional coverage in the past, and to date Next G does offer the best mobile coverage in regional areas. If you do use Next G for this reason, it's important to get a handset that is rated well for Rural use. Telstra have an easy guide to do this, the "Blue Tick" system which they mark certain devices with that they advise are better for rural coverage. There are also other devices like the Nokia 6120 that can take an external antenna when coupled with a Force cradle in the car, this can also help you with coverage. Whilst we as sales consultants try to be as informed as we can about devices and how well they perform, it's great to look at reviews and user forums to find people using the device in a similar circumstance as yourself and take this information on board before making up your mind.
