-         Press Start > Settings > Connections tab > Connections Icon.
-         Tap on Advanced then press on Select Networks.
-         On the lower drop down list press new, then type down VF Live & PXT as the name of the new connection then tap on Modem.
-         Press New then type down Vodafone WAP as the new modem name, and select Cellular Line (GPRS) as the modem type then press next.
-         Types down (live.vodafone.com) as the Access Point Name then press next.  Leave the User name, Password and the Domain field blank then            press Finish.

-         Tap on Proxy Settings and check both boxes on the screen, then press Advanced.
-         Tap on HTTP then put down 10.202.2.60 as the value for the server field, and 8080 as the value for the Port, then press ok
-         Tap on WAP and put down the same values for the Server and the port then press ok.
-         Press ok again and tap on Modem.
-         Now you can see the modem -Vodafone WAP- press and hold on it
-         Select Connect.
-         Now open the start menu and launch the internet browser and try to connect to http://live.vodafone.com, after that you can also try connecting to any other WAP sites.

PXT Settings:
-         Press Start the select Messaging tap on Menu then select MMS configuration.
-         Tap on Servers then press New.
-         Now enter the following values then Press ok then select VF
-         PXT and set it as the default then press ok.

Where you may be saving money in the short term, you should also consider the long term implications of an import.
Usually what will happen in the event of a warranty claim is that they’ll accept the device back into their store/PO box and send it to the country of purchase (often Europe or Asia) for assessment and repair. This can and will increase the time you are without your device.
They also use the term “Australian warranty” very loosely, it is not an ”Manufacturer Australian Warranty”, ie. You will not be able to take your imported Nokia E72 into a local Nokia Care centre, as you IMEI number will not match any entry in their “Australian IMEI” database.

Things to look out for with a grey importer:
- A VoIP phone number, eg. 0390160371
- A PO Box address on their website
- Will only accept credit cards, will not offer bank deposit as a payment type
- Only have a email contact form on their website

Answering these questions before walking into a store will assist the sales rep in finding the device that is right for you!

HTC WM - Best all round smartphones on the market, often the leaders in mobile technology, make a lot of devices for other companies, best converged devices, works well with Microsoft due to the operating system compatibility. Excellent PDA functions. Built in Word, Excel, Powerpoint software.
HTC Android – High end Android devices, similar specs to WM HTCs, limited root access when bought through a carrier (eg. HTC Magic – Vodafone).

Samsung – Great specifications for the price, high tech LED screens, good multimedia compatibility, fantastic camera firmware, decent phones, decent battery life, have been known to overheat in a small number of cases, works best with the Symbian operating system.

Blackberry – Unmatched in email functionality, security and data compression. Can be expensive to run if your work place doesn’t have the proper software on their mail servers (BB support through carriers can cost up to $50 per month). Will not syncronise emails via cable, only calendar and contacts.

iPhone – Unmatched in browser capability and multimedia. Limited calendar and contacts functionality. Limited Outlook compatibility. Limited business use. Ordinary battery life. Can have issues with phone functionality. Very high end, compacitive screen.
