1. Try to avoid  fully discharging your battery overly frequently. This is due to battery cells degrading over time, and frequent full discharges give you less cycles over time than discharging down to the 40-60% mark. Full discharging every time you use your battery Will lead to quicker degrading of your battery’s recharging capacity, and you will also find your battery loses charge a lot quicker also.

2. To preserve battery meter accuracy, it’s also advised to discharge your battery fully once every 30 charge cycles.

3. Avoid heat -  as it will cause battery cells to degrade and fault a lot quicker. Heat can include leaving your power adaptor attached to the machine when the battery is fully charged, or leaving your computer stored in a hot car.

4. If you plan to place your battery in storage, be sure to have the battery discharged to 40% and stored in a cool, dry place to aid battery longevity. It is important that you store the battery in a water and moisture proof location though, to ensure that you don’t harm your battery, or worse, your computer when the battery is reinserted.

5. If your battery needs to be replaced after 1-2 years, this is unfortunate but completely normal. Most manufacturers we deal with offer a 6 month warranty on their batteries, which shows that this product degrades over time and will need to be periodically replaced. By implimenting the above tips that are relevant to your requirements, hopefully your battery will last as long as it possibly can!
